How It Works
Contact and Pick
Contact us with your desired car if you know which one you want, or we're also happy to assist you pick the right car that fits your budget and needs.
Ship
After we purchase the car, we will arrange for it to be shipped to the US. We will also handle all the necessary logistics and customs clearance procedures, so you will receive your car without any delays.
Search and Buy
We'll start searching for your chosen car as soon as you make your selection and present you with a few options for approval. To begin the bidding process, a deposit is required, and once we win the lot, the full payment must be received within 2 business days to avoid auction penalties and fees.
Delivery
We will arrange for your car to be delivered right to your door or you can come to pick it up at our Laguna Niguel location. Whatever works best for you, our goal is to make your experience as convenient as possible.
Register with DMV
This step is optional. Some customers like to take care of this themselves, but we can handle it for you too, so you can receive your car with title and license plates ready to drive.
F.A.Q.
1. What cars can be imported?
The general rule is 25 years, meaning any car 25 years or older can be imported without restrictions. It still must comply with safety rules and regulations, but they're not as strict as for newer cars. As for today in 2024 you can import cars made in 1999 or earlier.
2. How much cars costs at the auction?
This really depends on the year, make, and model, as well as the condition and its location. Sports cars or SUVs are usually more expensive than stock sedans. Look at our gallery page to get an idea of the pricing.
Some simple cars can cost only $2-4k, whereas fully loaded Nissan Skyline GTR can be over $100k+. Contact us, and we'll provide you with more accurate pricing.
3. What is the condition of the cars?
We try to get you the best car for your budget. 25+ y.o. won't be in brand-new condition but it may be close to it. However, there are "gems" too, with low mileage, and "like-new" condition. Japanese cars are known for their reliability and they are normally well-maintained and cared for by owners. That's what we love them for. Vintage, historic, legendary and reliable.
4. What are additional costs besides the car price? How much will you charge for your service?
The final price will include the cost of the car + shipping + customs duties and fees. Shipping may vary from $1000 to $4000 depending on the type of service. Customs duties are 2.5% of car value.
We charge a small one-time fee. No hidden fees or unforeseen expenses.
5. Do you have cars in stock? Can I come to your yard to buy a car?
We are not a dealership and we don't sell cars, we sell a service to buy and deliver your car to you. Thus, we don't keep the inventory here in the US, like many other importers, but it allows us to significantly lower the costs to you. However, we have our yard in Japan, where we stock some cars that are ready to be shipped. Contact us for current availability.
6. Do you offer financing?
Not at this moment. It's a bit different process than buying a car from the local dealership. Cars must be paid off right after we win the auction, so many of our customers have their funds ready in cash before the order. However, after the estimate, you're free to get your own financing and use the funds towards the purchase.
6. Can I order parts or tuning upgrades from you?
Certainly. It can be challenging to locate JDM parts in the US. However, our team in Japan can assist you in finding the appropriate part, whether it's new or used, and ship it to you. It can be engines, transmissions, suspension, body parts, and accessories. You can count on us for all your needs.
7. Any perks for military personnel?
If you serve in Japan and would like to bring your favorite Japanese car into the US, we're here to help. You can buy a car by yourself and we'll just arrange the transportation or we can help you to buy it and you can come to see it in person, before purchase. A 10% discount also applies to all on active duty and veterans.
